Was known about a week before hand however many didn't patch their servers. It uses up incredible bandwidth with repeated requests to the outside world. This is very dangerous for the DC's if they aren't properly patched. It infects and then repeats, starts sending out requests to other servers. Typical DOS attack however it threatens to take down the internet. It was like a sleeper. people noticed it on their computer but didn't do anything about it. Well it woke up!
