TheComputerGuy 03-30-2001, 11:47 PM Hi everyone,
I told everyone I would post this one, so here it goes.
I can not go roller blading, why I said I would I will never know why (wait yes i do)
I arrived at 6:30 just like she said too. She got there at 6:53, but who is counting.
Well she kinda ditched me since i could not skate, so i got me some skates determined to learn, I tried, didnt fall at first, so i finally got onto the big ring they had. Well Tell ya what i was doing good. But i got so scared. Then when everyone started going faster I fell on my knees. Well her friend helped me to learn to skate better, and we sat and talked while the girl i was there with went skating by herself, well me and the friend had a very interesting conversation, she was nice, and all. But I still wanted to skate with the original person. But I could not skate as straight, nor keep my balance as well as she could, oh well sometimes things are as good as we hope them to be.
My motto,: "The worst they can say is no."
Skating told me no: Newtons law
We really never got the whole gf or bf thing worked out, nut she kept saying she needs a man, and looking my way. but i dont feel i want to be in that kinda of a relationship. maybe i am wrong.

When it comes to dating, you would also be wise to remember Murphy's law.
TheComputerGuy 03-31-2001, 12:07 AM My ankles needed to hear that, thanks
Atleast, she didn't make fun of you..... I hope.....
Chicken 03-31-2001, 01:15 AM My experiences with dating went something like that. To make you feel better, I'll tell you about one time when I asked this girl out in H.S. She was the best looking girl in her class (she was a year or two younger than me, I forget).
I believe my *parents* drove us to a movie (the sign of disaster), as I wasn't old enough to drive at the time. I think I gave her my class ring at the end of the 'date' and I seem to recall that she promptly gave it back the next day.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.... whoooo... too funny.
Then there were the college dates which pretty much consisted of accidentally going out into the dorm's hallway and bumping into drunk girls which mysteriously led to testing the strength of those cheap bunk beds. Not really what I'd call a date.
Pick your moment. Halloween is good. Girls like men in chicken suits (from experience), and fast cars (again from experience). Pick up a Porsche (I know where you can get a good deal on one), and be the babe magnet that you don't know you are.
Duster 03-31-2001, 01:26 AM Are you saying she and you are confused or uncertain whether you want to date together or skate together? ;)
I once went on a date and came back with more bruises than I started with, and I didn't get in a fight....... of course now she's my girlfriend.....
TheComputerGuy 03-31-2001, 08:51 AM Duster I think both.
No she didnt make funny of me mostly, except when i fell right in front of her. I will learn to skate, if i can make a web page better than most my age, or run a server better than people twice my age, i can learn to skate.
Murphy's Law: An idiot says things but they always happen the opposite way.
kunal 03-31-2001, 11:33 AM hmmm... if she hasnt said anything dun let it bother you... really... i used let such things bother me.. you always have another shot :) just be yourself :)
do i sound like a old man?
TheComputerGuy 03-31-2001, 12:15 PM Not really, i will ask her again, if it doesnt work Kunal
prepare :uzi:
LoL
akashik 03-31-2001, 02:43 PM Well her friend helped me to learn to skate better, and we sat and talked while the girl i was there with went skating by herself, well me and the friend had a very interesting conversation, she was nice, and all. But I still wanted to skate with the original person
Maybe it's just me, but I'm liking her friend better :) It may be a case of her friend looking like 5 miles of bad road or something, but why aren't you looking at her? She seems like a nicer person to me...
Greg's 'dating' mistake:
Years ago, when I was 16 or so I went out with a girl for about 3 months or so. I was very nice to her as her father was (and still is) a butcher. In short I was told if I treated her wrong, no-one would ever see me again, though his mince would be on special all week :)
Anyway it worked out fine, we did those date things, hung out, saw movies etc. It eventually fizzled out into nothing. Two years later I was at a friends place having a few drinks and as guys do, the subject turned to ex-girlfriends. After a while it suddenly became apparent we were talking about one girl in particular, and that we'd been going out with this girl at exactly the same time - neither of us knew... Over the next year or so, we both discovered about half a dozen other guys who'd all been with her as well, at the same time. Understandably it's not a relationship I look back on as one of the best.
Currently I'm in discussion with a guy who wants to develop a site at akashik.net Yep, you guessed it, he's an ex-boyfriend of hers too (though I know he went out with her after I did). She was a pretty busy girl.. Got to give her credit for keeping us all apart though - multitasking at it's best :)

kunal 03-31-2001, 03:00 PM the other one sure sounds nice :)
lol.. greg... just your luck eh? did her father know?
akashik 03-31-2001, 03:05 PM Kunal,
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he did. Being a father myself now I can understand how he might have got a lot of laughs out of the whole situation.

TheComputerGuy 03-31-2001, 06:14 PM Her friend is, I saw that last night. I am supposed to be doing some multitasking myself next friday night, but i dunno if i will have enough money, after i spent all of it on a computer i am building. I think i will have to sell a kidney.
Chicken 03-31-2001, 07:23 PM SOLD! - I've always wanted a kidney!
Mbarb 03-31-2001, 09:09 PM Just bring her to your place to look at your computer.. If she enjoys it you know she's the one:love:
Yeah, if she does like your computer..... your a lucky man....
TheComputerGuy 03-31-2001, 10:33 PM Well I wouldnt want some to love computers as i do, just maybe understand my love for them, and I understnad her love, ME!!!!
akashik 04-01-2001, 01:01 AM Ok, time for another sad-ass Greg story :)
A few years later after the last installment, I met another girl. For reference she went down in history as 'Psycho-Ex' after the Andy Prieboy song (look it up, you'll love it). She was computer illiterate but ok otherwise, beside a nasty case of insanity.
Anyway we were together a year or two and she developed a strange sense of the world. In essence we lived in one version, and she lived in another. She was always the jealous type at the best of times, and mixed with paranoia you can imagine where she was at. She decided that I 'loved' my computer more than her - in every sense of the word. The fact I was trying to carve out a career on the thing was lost on her. We actually had heated arguements over the issue. I would be woken up at 3am to a barrage of such mindless insanity which usually dragged on till 10am or even later (I think the record was 2pm the next day - still in bed, still arguing)
To cut a *very* long story short, my current better half loves computers, loves Star Trek, loves video games... I couldn't be happier - if you saw her picture in the other thread, you'll see she's not hard to look at either :)
If you spend the amount of time online as we do we need a girl you understands what you're trying to accomplish. Sometimes it looks like you're not doing anything, and sometimes you're doing things for free for a deal later on. Sometimes you're awake for three days in a row and smell bad. If she can walk into the room, and say, "I love you, now have a damn shower and eat something - by the way I just finished Final Fantasy VII", you know you're on a winner :)

akashik 04-01-2001, 02:07 AM hehe.
I know it and remind myself to tell her that everyday :) Took me 25 years of life to meet her and am pretty happy I have another 50 left if your average statistics for male life term are any guide. :)

TheComputerGuy 04-01-2001, 08:38 AM Well Ashaik,
I saw her pic, I think. Any ways good point, good idea, I think I will look out for that too, I will need a female like that. I just stayed up to 4:30 a.m to build my new computer, so I think someone has to understand.
baileysemt123 04-01-2001, 05:21 PM *grins*
Yes boys, there are a few of us out there. Hope you do not mind, however, if your sweetheart occasionally is the one to be up until 4:30 a.m.
:D I live in farmland here and would give anything to find a geek. I find an educated geek to be more stimulating than most of the boys around here. And roller-blading is NOT a prerequisite. I cannot stay on my feet on those darn things, either. heh

That Dating area for the forum was a joke of mine, but maybe it actually has some relevance after all :)

Woody 04-01-2001, 06:10 PM "Webhosting Talk Personal Ads" I can see it now......
Mbarb 04-01-2001, 06:41 PM "Webhosting Talk Personal Ads"
isn't that what these forums do.. pairing the host with the hosted...or something like that...
Hey, Bailey, I'll.. :wavey: next time I run through the "Door"
TheComputerGuy 04-01-2001, 06:54 PM Well I actually fell on my shoulder blade, it hurt like a mofo, but i think i will go buy a pair, just to chase females, well Baily, I live in hickville, USA, so I think I understand you.
Hmmm... I'm going to open up 'buggered.org' for specifically non-topic stuff like this (dating)... Anyone interested? :D
akashik 04-02-2001, 12:43 AM BC,
sounds like a good idea. :) Only I hope the rest of the world shares our definition of bugger, instead of it's usual meaning... you might get some funky people rolling up to a dating site with a name like that *grin*

baileysemt123 04-02-2001, 06:03 PM Mbarb> what a small world. I am coming to your town later this week for some much-needed shopping :D It's been far too long since I've been in an OfficeMax. hehe
(Now we just have to work on his choice of webhosts) LOL!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I love this board.

Mbarb 04-02-2001, 11:11 PM I'm smarter now than I was then. I chose them because I need to be able to run CGI from any directory and not to many hosts offer this. They really haven't been to bad but there are moments when I want to pull my hair. My site is small enough to be on a shared server. Right now they are in the process of moving the 4.6+ gig site with a busy Vbulletin BBS, offering there own e-mail service for a half dozen domains and 25 meg free hosing off my server. Once this is done things should be better. In the near future I may need dedicated as I have 2 more sites I want to open.
Now we just have to work on his choice of webhosts) LOL!!!!!!!!!
Make sure to :wavey: when you come down this way..
