About a month ago, I switched over to Burlee. I realize you can find hosting with lower rates and perhaps more bells and whistles. But I heard a lot of good comments about them and wanted to give them a try.

The first thing I noticed was that my site loads much faster than my previous hosts. Additionally, I have yet to notice any slow periods as I did previously. In the past, I constantly had to check to see if my site was up and running and many times it wasn't. When I told my previous host about it, they took at least a day and in many cases more to get it back up. And they lied about why it was down (blaming links, etc).

What I like about Burlee is that every chance I get to check on my site, it is up and running. This is what I feel is the most important point about any hosting program. No matter how attractive it is, if they can't keep the site on-line they aren't worth a damn. This is the most basic task of any hosting company or data center and is what you pay them for.

Another thing that aggravates me is when people tell you they are 24/7 when they are not. As I am located in the Japan time zone, I get plenty of chances to know if North American companies are really answering their mail in the wee hours. I am pleased to report that Burlee does indeed answer mail in the middle of the night and they are usually quite fast at getting back.

But what I like most about their tech support is that it is very detailed. I realize a lot of it is cut and paste answers but it is usually intertwined with genuine personal support. Many times they will refer you to FAQ's but I must say their FAQ's are very helpful. But if you still don't understand something they take the time to explain it to you.

Lastly, and to avoid any confussion, this is NOT an advertisment for Burlee. I am merely reporting to the forum my experience with them. If you are a reseller trying to make a killing reselling virtual web space this may not be the host to go to. However, if you have first rate clients that can't afford to have their sites down, this is definitely one host to consider.
