If you ever get board with your computer(s) I can highly suggest what I call 'duro-testing'. Find a nice concrete wall, about 10-20 feet clear to the left and right and optimally about 50 feet of running room before the wall. Take any computer component (printers are excellent, tower units, monitors can be fun but be careful with those, and on occasion try this on your desk too) and grasp it firmly, run towards wall at a high rate of speed, about 10 feet from the wall give it a nice push. This proves to be a very very enjoyable time, beware... cleanup can be boring but if you don't exactly get a clean break the first time then cleanup can provide more fun!
For fun on the go, take several mice with you optimally with a cord a tad bit shorter than you are. When you wish for fun, whip mouse around in a circular motion and slam it against the floor (this works extremely well for those of us without mouse ball fetishes, in short... leave the mouse ball in the mouse!).
Keyboards: Keyboards are also an excellent source of fun, use the same instructions as the mouse but beware, cleanup will be a pain but well worth it. I have been doing this years now in search for the mythical 'any' key.
Where do I find these components??? Good question lad! I find you can get many excellent toys from 2nd hand shops, garage sales, and the best source... find somebody that works in a computer store. You would be suprised how much old crap customers who are upgrading will throw out.
For people on a budget with fun in mind you can attempt the following. Purchase a few cdr's, microwave for 4 seconds. This will provide for an excellent light show and they make excellent coasters too! Another nice thing is the smell you get, it's superb!
Ethical 'duro-testing'. Be a safe 'duro-tester' and follow these basic rules:
1. If it's not yours, don't ask. Just 'test' it and tell them you found it that way.
2. If others are in the area, shout 'woo hoo!' to alert them to your fun. Maybe they will look back quick enough to see some computer parts richochet upon them.
DISCLAIMER!!!
I take no liability in your actions. Should you injure yourself trying these techniques then you are the dummy not I. I will not be held responsible for dead microwaves, broken limbs, loss of hair, destruction of otherwise working parts, nor your neighboors sheep. Do not try this at home, try it at work instead, in front of customers... when your boss is watching.
Warm regards, and happy fun!
Mike
