The same person keeps trying to break in my server. Atleast 10 times a day this fool has attempted to break into my system. he keeps doing this /scripts/..% 52f../winnt/system32/cmd.exe?/c+dir.
I guess that individual isn't smart enough to realize that im running linux :)

My logs have about just as much real requests as hacking attempts - ignore it and move on :)

Isn't that code red virus just scanning IP's for un-patched open servers to infect?

Only 10 times a day.. Your lucky wait till its gets to 100's and 1000's of times a day...

Very common...its annoying, but harmless other than taking up bandwidth.

I dont know, I cant see your sig, I turn them off.

Call their ISP up or send a few emails to abuse@isp.net

Chances are the server doing the scanning is infected by a worm and the owner of the server doesn't realize it. A polite telephone to the owner usually sorts the problem if you can trace them. If not report the abuse to the ISP. They usually frown upon this even if the owner of the server isn't doing it intentionally.
