Hi,

I'm intending to start up a webhosting company soon and would like to know everything that must be done including legal requirements etc.

Everything from credit card acceptance, to tos, to license to sell products.

At the moment, all I have figured out is:

I'm using VDI
I'm using BillAdmin
I'm using CyberRegister from CyberCash

And thats all, what else do i have to do to start up?

Also, If anyone does use BillAdmin, could anyone tell me how easy it is to setup and if it works with CyberCash ePDQ (that is the UK version)

Is there a way to prevent customers from suing?
Do you have to have a backup server to begin?

Also, does anyone know when Cpanel 4 is going to be launched. According to VDI it already has been, 2 months ago almost (LOL)

Thanks,
Peter McNulty

At the moment BillAdmin will not work with ePDQ (Unless Matt has added the changes that I mentioned) as it needs several changes to the code to interface with the Barclays system (not major) which I have discussed with Matt so hopefully it will make an appearance soon, if it hasn't already.

As for customer suing, you really don't have any way of getting round it and insurance won't do you any good as you will be lucky to find any and if you can it will be very expensive (Or at least it was when we asked) as web hosts are classed as ISPs and broadcasters in the UK, both of which are high risk businesses.

Can anyone make a list of things you must do before letting customers join?

Also, is anyone in the UK? If so, do you need to get a license to sell products? Where can you get if if you need to?

Thank you
