Hello,
I am new here and was hoping someone could help. I run a site called getDistro.com. It is a Linux Download Service like download.com. The problem is Costs. I have 3 download servers each with a 100 MB Unmeetered connection to keep up with the load. Up until December, I was making enough with AdSense to cover the costs $350 - $500 per month. However lately the earnings dropped to less then $100 per month, however the number of visitors have doubled.
What am I doing wrong, I have made no changes to the page since

Hello,
You could analyze your CPC earnings and compare with previous period.

Impossible to answer without more info.
AD blindness is one possibility.
If you've changed content, layout and whatnot - the demographics of your users could have changed - therefore they are not acting like they used to.

I thought of that, however the ad content has actually became more targeted. I used to have ads for JCPenny but now I have several Linux Ads

Where is the problem. Lower CTR? Or lower earnings on a healthy CTR?
Contextual advertising is a funny thing.
Your users might actually be more interested in clicking JCPenny ads, than Linux Ads. Linux and free connotations, -> an aware userbase is worth a few thoughts... Linux Ads might just be the same as running MS Sharepoint Ads on your site. They might not be interested.
In Google we trust - but every so often, webmasters still know their target audience better.
Another thing to consider is spreading your earnings. Affiliate marketing, with a healthy focus on documentation, administration and linux related merch would appeal to your audience. Perhaps a couple of text links.

Thanks for your help. My CTR seems to have dropped from 5.3% to 1.4%. I do have affiliate ads, but they are hit and miss (I use CJ for that)
