View Full Version : dot5hosting Any CONCRETE complaints? (dot5)
Wick Ness 09-24-2002, 12:21 AM | I've read some posts on this board where people flame dot5 for pushing their service on WHT.
Outside of their aggressive marketing, what sorts of problems have people had with their service?
Are there any concrete complaints you can make about dot5hosting's service (and not just their marketing)?
I am considering moving my web hosting to them and wanted the sage wisdom of the board first. |
Choppy 09-24-2002, 12:25 AM Not sure about concrete, maybe cement rendered...
But im just another guy from a different building industry.

KakenBetaal 10-05-2002, 09:19 AM I'm pretty happy with dot5hosting - no complaints. I've been with them since July 25th. Not that long, but then the company hasn't been going that long either.
Sure, they've made a couple of minor mistakes, but they more than made up for it with their willing and helpful service. They're always cheerful and always ready to assist.
It's very refreshing to me to get such good service from them, seeing as I came from UK2.net. I'm very satisfied so far, and I'd definitely recommend them.
(Nope, I'm not affiliated with them and I won't gain anything from this recommendation) |
KakenBetaal 10-05-2002, 09:33 AM Just read the thread on dot5hosting's advertising techniques. Can't say I see anything wrong with it, although they may advertise aggressively.
Just for the record, I found dot5 on these forums from a user post. Chris did not ask me to post here about dot5hosting.
Well, I've been with dot5hosting for two and a half months, and I'm happy so far. Dot5Hosting are by no means perfect - they did fluff things a few times, but their honest approach to solving the problem, lack of ego, and no pissing about has made them tops in my opinion.
If you want to see my site to check for advertising/affiliation, or for any other reasons, please private message me. |
PPjohn 10-05-2002, 09:35 AM Yeah, but for me, ensim + maximum 5 mySQL = bad. I mean, I heard it was hard to even make a subdomain with ensim? I would get way to frusterated with something like that. :(

puggy106 10-06-2002, 09:17 AM We use wildcards for subdomains, and you can purchase more MySQL at any time on any of our plans. |
I, Brian 10-06-2002, 09:37 AM The only major complaint, I've seen as a newbie to WHT, is a payment issue with a single member - which appears resolved on that thread. |
puggy106 10-06-2002, 09:49 AM We did have a problem with payment through WorldPay (Our CC processor) which has now been resolved. |

mbennett 10-06-2002, 12:19 PM i believe dot 5 is a rackshack server owner and that i guess explains the aggressive marketing. also the heasdsurfer reccommends them. so i see where they can get away with a bit more
i ran across this one day
