Put the current time on the profile page, its hard to see if the person is active currently.

Why not just look at the online list on the main page to see who is currently online?

In that case you won't see in their posts that they are online  Why is it imperative that you know they are online anyway?

lol, silly idea :D , the main list show if someone is online, if they excluded themselves from that list then the profile page wouldnt show them being online either.

Best way to search for someone that isnt online is by their posts, just search for a user and it will give you the date and time of their last post.

Keep coming up with the ideas, once in a while an idea is agreed :)

What time frame is the main online now list for? Last 15 min?

nope, its NOW, I think thats why its the "Online Now" list :D

I think it just tracks that the user is currently browsing the pages via cookies.

*the wonders of modern technology* :D

I still don't understand why it's important to find out when people are online. Surely you'll see them making posts if they are online, or they'll be on messengers... (and obviousely you'd know their handles because you're intimate enough to want to know when they're online)
