I want to convert some of my static html sites to WordPress.
What is the best way to add another language besides English to the blog? For example, I like to have English and Japanese.
Is it easier just to install another WordPress to a new folder or is there a easier way (plugins, etc.)?
Thanks

This silly board (we all love) does not allow this for first posters, if you are interested you should read the forum rules, its all explained in there ;)
I don't think this plugin is what the OP wants, if i read it correctly he wants to be able to post in 2 languages, not some automatic-translator which mostly do a very bad job at translations.

i understand why new members are restricted at 1st (slow spammers down) but its still annoying at 1st
and translator in question 1.does pretty good job & 2. caches translated pages to your wordpress/server 3.can have 1 language or (think) upto 35 languages 4. yes ive used it on 1 of my own sites (ts1design.com), i dont ever recommend software i havent used ;)

So it does allow you to write your posts in 2 languages ? or is it only automated ?
And yes i understand its annoying but not doing it would be much more annoying ;)

Search google for "multilingual wordpress" you will get quite a good number of results, you can also look at this link http://geoland.org/2007/01/multilingual-wordpress/ and this one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=multilingual
