I have a new customer that would like to setup a calling card service.
I know how to setup voip on servers.
I have a customer that wants to setup a calling card type of service with voip.
The customer would buy a calling card off the website. The website would generate a 6 digit pin code so than the customer can call a local number and make his long distance phone call. Does anyone know any software or anything that can do this?
I was looking at buying sip mins in bulk from a wholesale provider.
Is there any type of software anyone know of that can do this right now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt S.

Hi,
In order to setup calling-card, you first need a phone line and a gateway connected to it. The gateway can be a cisco, quintum, asterisk that can store the IVR, or other devices like a welltech gateway that will forward that call to a sip extension on a voip server that serves the IVR like "Thank you for calling this company... please enter your pin number" . Once the authentication is done, the system will prompt for the destination number and the call is made.
TollFree/PSTN => Gateway/VoIP Server -> Destination.
You can test wtih A2Billing for asterisk available at: http://www.asterisk2billing.org/cgi-bin/trac.cgi

Are you looking for a open source or a commercial solution ?

If open source, I'd suggest asterix + a2b. Thats the best in the market. There are various providers who even offer a customized version of asterix to suit this requirement. However, it could get expensive depending on the level of features needed.

You need to be really careful while building a VoIP server. Starting from call processing, gateway to sip interconnection, everything has to be taken care of with expertise.

As far as a commercial solution is concerned, there are various solutions in the market ranging from 40,000$ to 500,000$ .

The cost also depends on the number of call-in numbers you would require.

Finally, consult an expert before taking any decisions as VoIP is a hot market with innumerable offers. Unless you built a rock solid product, the competition would eat you up.

Well u can use softwares like voipswitch.com (licensed are $13000 and cracked $500) And use a DID number (voxbone.com) and u will be up and running in no time.

Or setup asterisk server with A2billing(calling card software) plus get a DID and u will be just fine.
