I would have to say that these are the best forums that I have ever had the pleasure of posting to. And I don't just mean the quality and quantity of the posts, I mean vbulletin! Which, btw, is coming out with version 2.0 as per their site that I just checked out.

Anyway, it is a very refreshing experience being a member here. I used to post a lot to the now defunct HTML and Javascript forums at Earthweb.com. The forums at earthweb were functional and satisfactory, but when internet.com took over (or whatever happened) they closed and members were directed to use the internet.com HTML and Javascript forums. Well, as some of you may know, those forums are not shining. In fact they aren't even up to the dull level of splendor. I stopped posting because I didn't like em'! And I think many people would (and did) agree with me!

These forums are great! The are pretty fast considering the volume of traffic they get and they render in a pleasing manner. And, much to my suprise, when you update your signature it shows the updated version in all of your old posts! Now I've never seen this done, but I've never used a signature either. Anyway, it's still cool.

I don't what else to say, but I like these forums!

Two small (almost unimportant) suggestions for the vbulletin people. Spell check and a preview button on the profile page that would let you preview your signature.

And as far as the content and addiction level of these forums... I am spending so much time here, I think I'll have to set myself a time limit so it stops cutting into my work time!

Regards All,
Michael

WeinBar,

Thanks! I've seen you around in quite a few threads that I've read and posted in. I hope to be able to help who ever I can. And maybe get a client or two along the way!

I found this forum as a fluke when I was trying to find hosting directories to submit my company to.

In fact, it was you that responded to my very first post (I think it was my first post).

Btw, when does "newbie" disappear from below my name?

Michael

Well, when you no longer are one!

Just kidding. I think it's at 30 posts, so you're pretty close.

If you haven't already done so I suggest you submit the preview button on profile page to the vB forums (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum) and ask if it has been done. The Spell Checker can be done (and Wayne from SitePoint forums (http://www.sitepointforums.com) has already done a PHP hack of a spell checker.

Doesn't that sounds familiar ;)

Anyway, welcome aboard. Glad to have ya here.

Update on the preview button... it has been done!

Here's the link to the search query "signature preview" on the vb boards.

http://vbulletin.com/forum/search.php?s=34c8bc6050926c397aebae946d3f09b1&action=showresults&searchid=25239&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending

It seems it has been done for 1.x.x AND 2.x.x. So whoever is in charge here, please check it out!

Regards,
Michael

We will be upgrading to VBulletin 2 when it comes out of it's Beta stage, for now 1.1.16 is stable enough. Any VBulletin2 experts out there who could help with the setup when required?

Welcome, these forums are addicting, and well I have been here for almost a year, and well see how many post i have compared to those signed up for only a few months,

Everyone brings something useful to the table of hosting, if it only be a small thing, it may have been something we would have missed out on!!
