Sure, but in UK terms thats massive. We're not exactly in what you call an "earthquake zone" so for us this is pretty shocking. exploiter 09-24-2002, 11:25 AM it was simply an earth tremor, i don't know why people call it an earthquake when it isn't.. KualoJo 09-24-2002, 11:41 AM well, just going on what the BBC said... and they said "earthquake". exploiter 09-24-2002, 02:36 PM Originally posted by jstonehouse well, just going on what the BBC said... and they said "earthquake". yeah, I know. any real person who knows the slightest thing about geography would tell you it wasn't an earthquake ;) susannad 09-24-2002, 09:53 PM 4.5 on the scale ? that's no earthquake .. it's a tremour we have them regularly no-one pays any attention to tremours, they can make the coffe mug tip over .. most annoying mind21_98 09-25-2002, 12:28 AM If it was a tremor, does Earth have Parkinson's disease? :stickout benoire 09-25-2002, 01:47 PM Originally posted by jstonehouse hehe, yeah, was just surprised to see it wasn't mentioned on here. Took the BBC an hour to get any news out though... but then thats the beeb for you :) BBC were on it from the word go! I had 5Live on when it happened and they experienced the tremor live, a split second before we did. All the subsequent news reports were collated from listener emails/texts etc to inform of them of where the shock had been felt etc. susannad 09-25-2002, 07:21 PM the earth doesn't have parkinsons, it had a football final the night before |
