Can anyone recommend a quality support ticket system with the following:

1. Support tickets can be handled by email, customer isn't required to first create an account and login to the help desk but instead can simply email support directly i.e. support@host.com.

2. Customer receives an automated response with a new ticket number and customized message after a support request is mailed.

3. Tickets can be handled by support staff through a web interface and an email client is not required.

PerlDesk (www.perldesk.com) has all of the features you listed.

Just read the readme file, and it details how to set up email integration so you can email support@domain.com to lodge a ticket.

We've been using perldesk for a while now and it does its job very well.
