View Full Version : Public Notice and Call for Mod Review
fcsnc 09-21-2002, 05:48 PM Hello, I must post this response to:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=579557#post579557
since BC saw fit to close the thread while implying (at least, as I see it) that for some reason I "need to be shot" or "hung up by the balls." I agree that the thread needed to be closed, but I resent the implications.
Unlike UmBillyCord (apparently one of the most popular folks on WHT), I have nothing to hide. Here are the facts about me:
I took a Master's in Latin on my way to a Ph.D. in Classical Philology. I never made it all the way through orals and dissertation because I decided I didn't want to be a college professor and move 11 times in my first 10 years and have to pay my own moving expenses every single time.
I'm 53 years old. Yes, that means I was alive during the Kennedy Administration. Sorry.
I do have over 22 years' experience in computing. My apologies to those of you who feel that one should (as perhaps UmBillyCord does?) also have 15 years' experience in commercial Web Hosting. As if that had been invented prior to 1990.
I may be a hick. You never can tell. However, I am not from North Carolina. I just live here, like a lot of other people. And I would much rather live here than in California, which will hopefully crack off and sink into the Pacific sometime soon.
I have all my hair (not a bit bald, thank you), and I have never had sex with UmBillyCord's mother.
I did not experience any of Powweb's downtime during the past 10 days. That's because I have had no relationship with Powweb since March, 2002.
I was, for a month or so, a moderator on the Powweb forums. As such, I felt that I was--in a way--a representative of Powweb. When I found out how Powweb treats their customers, I resigned as a moderator. Shortly thereafter, I had no domains hosted there any more. All of these events were MY decisions. So, UmBillyCord was inaccurate in his claims to the contrary. I have never been fired from any web host, 2-bit or otherwise.
My consulting firm, in business now for 4-1/2 years, is quite successful, thank you. I measure this by my strong client base and my repeat business. For UmBillyCord to imply otherwise, without public disclosure of his own business involvements (as if anyone cared), is defamatory, libelous, and harmful.
For BC to let stand UmBillyCord's ridiculous accusations on this board without allowing me any opportunity for rebuttal (which I tried to obtain via PM, without success) is childish.
UmBillyCord 09-21-2002, 06:02 PM Unlike UmBillyCord (apparently one of the most popular folks on WHT),
LOL. You don't come here much do you?
You need to re-evaluate yourself and the way you started this whole thing. Unlike others here, I am not affraid to ruffle feathers. Especially to someone whom I have no respect for. Anyone who opens insults with calling peoples mothers "Fat Bitches" really has no life. It is once again proven by your insistance to educate us on your autobiography. I highly doubt anyone here cares. And to open another thread after a respected mod closes it, shows your disrespect even further. You are a 53 year old child. There are 17, 18 and 19 year old kids with more respect and maturity here then you.
<edit>
PS - I am sure BCs comments were directed at both of us for our display. So you can stop feeling picked on.
Response for fcsnc: and what makes you think we care?
Darth 09-21-2002, 06:16 PM When a thread is closed, don't start another one..
Darth 09-21-2002, 06:20 PM wow, after reading the topic that was closed i'm surprised fcsnc isn't banned..
Rewdog 09-21-2002, 06:26 PM My newest business idea:

I think that BC closed the thread because it had gone way off topic
A classic example of 'who should be shot', and who should be hung by their balls.
this is directed at the war of words between you and umbilly. basically his way of saying "here's another he said she said insult thread"

What's he hiding again??

Irrelevant btw, bbs were hosted in the early 90s and late 80s

childish is you calling umbillys mother a big fat bitch - that rudeness will not be tolerated here.
I think BC was justified in closing that thread before it got worse, if you had problems with it moderators @ webhostingtalk.com
Andrew 09-21-2002, 06:30 PM fcsnc, I think you're overestimating the impact of that thread on WHT. It's nothing more than a blip on the radar.
SoftWareRevue 09-21-2002, 06:47 PM Durn. I was trying hard to not read that thread. Now I must go back there and see what all the hub-bub was.
This thread should be closed though.
Well, I can remember fsnc as a powweb's moderator. He was an excellent moderator for a while (he was very helpful). But then he became just crazy, he began close almost every thread on the powweb's forum (maybe some incident had happened to his life?). And short after that he had resigned. Maybe some bad circumctances are still influencing his life? I don't think that we must be so stern at him.
Oh so what poor fcsnc needs is a hug?
Maybe teddybear.edu can help
However, it's been my experience that people like this want a spanking.

. . . . I don't think that we must be so stern at him. If he needs his hand held, I think he came to the wrong place.
When you act like children on the playground throwing stones at each other; you can't go whinin' to the teacher cuz one of em hurt.
After reading that thread, it's apparent to me what happened. And for him to be so self absorbed to believe BC was addressing him exclusivley, is only a testament of his maturity. And, if he is truthful about that; that makes him a year or two older than me. It's kinda depressing to be represented so poorly.
DanielP 09-21-2002, 07:06 PM *sits quietly in the background waiting and wondering when someone will make a daytime soap outta WHT"
As the WHT Turns!
I'm not even gonna touch that one...
Me either! I have standards.
and too many pych classes.
Aussie Bob 09-21-2002, 07:54 PM Where's the love? I miss the love. :D

<Snipped bits of info>
No offense.....
But why would I have any interest in reading your professional and educational profile? As far as I know, no one had even mentioned your "qualifications" (??) or bio at all, except for you.
I'm not looking to hire you for a position, engage in a business partnership with you, or anything similar.
Bluntly put, your education isnt that interesting to the other readers of the message board, while the original thread (which was interrupted by the two of you fighting) actually WAS usefull and interesting.
As for a "Moderator Review" ??
Come on, what is this, an elected position of Internet Judge/ Morton Downey Jr Show to allow to fighting people to get their equal number of licks in ?
Lets be serious here.
johnallen 09-21-2002, 09:07 PM who cares? This post was completely useless and pointless.
Chicken 09-21-2002, 09:30 PM ...nor did it have anything to do with web hosting (top forum) hence it has been moved. When a thread is locked, it doesn't mean, start a new one and keep going on with it. Apologize to one another, be productive, and move on with your lives. Thread closed (again).
If you want to contact BC, you may do so via the links in his profile.
