can any one recommend a good JDBC drive that is competible with apache TOMCAT? most JDBC drives require their own JAVA ENGINE.
and a link to download it would be great. :)

Try MMmySQL. It is one of the best I've seen around. The address is http://mmmysql.sourceforge.net/. The driver is JDBC 1.12 and JDBC 2.0 compatible.

Caucho have an mySQL jdbc driver which is better than mmmysql. It's also free I believe and you don't have to use resin to take advantage of it, just drop the jar in the 'lib' directory.

There is a coucho JDBC driver, but it needs Resin installed. Are we talking about the same JDBC driver here MattF?

I'm pretty sure you don't need Resin installed to use the JDBC drivers, as are independent of their applications, even though they don't say this on the site. Reason being I've tried it with one of my apps in JBuilder 3 and it worked???

Dunno though :) Worth a try for extra speed, just download and drop in your lib directory of your servlet engine or jdk then try loading it with Class.forName(...).
