I was recently asked by a client if I could possibly set up a way to stream live video from my server for morning announcements at a high school. All of the rooms have computers / projectors and they would just go to whatever.com and view the stream so the class could see the morning announcements which would be recorded by a webcam in the main office. I would like to run the video to my machine then it be streamed off through an internet browser. I need some help / suggestions for this. This is going to be installed on a red hat machine.
Any Help is appreciated! :)

Hi,
You can look into youtube style clones if you want to host pre-recorded videos. However if you want to do live streaming there are few alternatives such as flash media hosting, or you can look into red5 which is a free tool if you utilize correctly it'll allow you to do live streaming.
Good luck

I am currently using clip-bucket for pre recorded videos. (Your company is familiar with CB as I understand). But I need something for live video. I have looked into red5, but I can not see how to configure / use it...

You can look into NVS which is the video addon for the shoutcast streaming services.
