View Full Version : Calling Eservers.biz & Fastservers.net customers.
MultiVol 09-21-2002, 07:07 AM How do you find their services?
What is their average support response times?
(be honest both questions)
Thanks.
Much Appreciated.
StevenG 09-21-2002, 07:09 AM eservers.biz are great.. you will not find better people to have servers with. :D
Tickets are usually answered within minutes.. not hours :)
Shazad and Imran are really good people.. :)
diederik 09-21-2002, 07:45 AM Although I don't use eServers, it seems like a good company :)
I'm using fastservers for just 1 1/2 month now, and their services/support is excellent, I highly recommend them! :agree:
PixelAxis 09-21-2002, 09:08 AM Has anyone tried eServer's managed services?
Aussie Bob 09-21-2002, 09:19 AM Have 1 server with fastservers.net [HE.net]. Great support. Good solid server - great datacenter. Really detailed answers for tech tickets etc. They do seem a little too keen to rip out the "that'll be $100.00/hr for that type of request". They charge for IPs. But I would give then 9/10. :D:agree:
Techark 09-21-2002, 09:21 AM You cannot go wrong with eservers. I have servers at the DV2 center I talk to them on ICQ all the time the guys at eservers have helped me out more than once with questions about my servers and cpanel. They know what they are doing, service is fast friendly and knowledgable.
Give them a shot you will not be sorry you did.
I have had a server with Fastservers for a little over a month now and everything has been good. Had a few support requests fixed under a hour on the weekend. It's nice to be able to call on the phone and actually have someone answer it also.
joethong 09-21-2002, 01:54 PM Yep Eservers get my votes here.
LinuXpert 09-21-2002, 03:03 PM Yep. We have a server at eServers, nothing to complaint so far.
EdgeWise 09-21-2002, 06:13 PM I just got a server at fastservers.net a week ago, so far so good. They called me when the server first got up to report the server was down (I had just rebooted the server after upgrading the kernel ;) ) they are also all very friendly. I'm happy with them. :)
tribby 09-21-2002, 07:14 PM FastServers gets my vote. There has been maybe 5 minutes of downtime since we started using them a month and a half ago. The few times that I've actually needed to contact them they've replied with a fast and thoughtful response.
The main reason why I would go with FastServers over eServers is that FastServers offers phone support. I can't image having a dedicated server provider who wouldnt be there for a quick reboot, etc, over the phone.
universal2001 09-21-2002, 11:10 PM eServers.biz is great! Only thing I dislike about them is how hard it is getting IP addresses but besides that, eservers get my vote :D
BurtonHost 09-22-2002, 05:03 AM Been with eservers nearly a year now - can't fault them at all, top for everything and I have used other companies too - eServers beat them support wise, and the network at DV2 is good and is going to be getting better.. :D
coight 09-22-2002, 05:36 AM We have started using fastservers over the past 1 week and what can I say, Im impressed. Fast network, great pings fast support times.
We have been with eservers since March, I would rate eservers the best dedicated server host. Apart from the cogent/netrail only (which will change) everything has been provided above my expectations and they go out of the way to ensure that your happy!.
You won't go wrong with either.
sonic 09-22-2002, 06:44 AM however, eservers isnt offering any dedicated servers for a while.
so are their long long promised p4 server ... sigh..
seg fault 09-22-2002, 08:59 AM fastservers seem to have disconnected their phones
coight 09-22-2002, 09:28 AM The 1800 works for me (in Australia)
seg fault 09-22-2002, 09:31 AM Their direct nor the 1800 (in australia) numbers work for me.
How good is their 1800 in a tonne of countries? I think its the best idea!
coight 09-22-2002, 09:33 AM I think it's bloody marvelous :)
seg fault 09-22-2002, 09:36 AM Called Telstra about getting something similar....no luck there
rsutc 09-23-2002, 11:22 AM I need to connect with some very recent fastservers customers to satisfy myself on the score of an alleged bug/bad interaction between cPanel/stunnel and Macintosh browsers. See the thread at
http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=75934
for more info.
I can be reached at host@webnamehost.net
Note that I am NOT slagging fastservers over this; but I think they may be mistaken and need to know before deciding what to do next. If they are right, my ability to log on to my existing cPanel boxes is about to vanish when they upgrade, and of course it makes no sense to buy more.
Rick
rsuct -
I am a bit confused about your post, but have a server at Fastservers and also have a Mac in my stable and I don't seem to be having any problems. cPanel will not let you log in?
Cpanel Version/Build 5.0.0-STABLE Build 108
Operating System Linux
Apache Version 1.3.26 (Unix)

I've got a Mac (OS X) and a Fastservers.net server.
What's the problem you are running into?

slsgod 09-26-2002, 01:15 AM Fastservers....
I got 1 machine initially to test with them its been up for 2 months and they have done a fantastic job...The only thing I could have done without was the quarterly prepay they now have.

The security cert was not being properly presented on 2087. They insisted it was my Mac. (All five in two locations on different OS and Nets!!) and I that it was their setup. Ultimately they couldn't or wouldn't fix it and cancelled out with refund. I have tested a number of boxes since with positive results, and am convinced they didn't know what they were talking about.
Sympton: https to port 2087. Ignore the first cert warning CPanel presents (they all do) If you actually get presented with a dialog box to log into one or two steps later, all is good. If you get "data encryption error" or nothing, it's not. However, as I say, I think I'm satisfied from checking several boxes that it was not my machine's fault. Anyone else want to try and report?
