Domenico 03-27-2001, 05:09 PM Does anyone know if I can install this on a RAQ3 ?
http://www.smarthostingtools.com/products.html
It says it is for linux redhat but i don't know if it will interfere with the cobalt cp. But then again people said webmin wouldn't work with the cp but it works like a train.
Since Cobalt refuses to make a decent hosting management panel others have to do it and as we can see they do a really great job with it.
Maybe someone know another good script that helps you managing your customers.
I mean keeping records of clients, payments, contracts and every other thing you can think of.
H-sphere from psoft.com is another cool one that does the trick really good.
Oh, what was my question again?
;-)
thank you.

Phiberop 03-28-2001, 08:43 PM A lot of people always say that RaQ's are not meant to be highly customized and this is true to an extent. In my opinion, you can do anything you please with your RaQ. If you wanted to you could run Cpanel on your RaQ or Plesk... however, unless you have a team of programmers at your side to recode everything, it might not be the best idea :)
Regards,
Mike

One of our members, Arnoud, is involved with this company. I've told him it is ok to post clarifications (and this would fall into this catagory), but maybe he hasn't seen this post. I'll email him and maybe he'll post a definitive answer for you here.
Domenico 03-29-2001, 05:04 AM That would be really great because we are really thinking of buying this software.
Not just for the RAQ3 but for our next server (not RAQ).
Thank you.
Boksoft 03-29-2001, 05:12 AM Domenico,
We expect to have the software ported to RAQ3 in 2 weeks from now. Next week the FreeBSD version will be available.
Feel free to contact me at sales@smarthostingtools.com to discuss things.
Thanks,
Arnoud
Domenico 03-29-2001, 06:46 AM Hmm, ok but can't I just buy the normal version and use it on the raq for handling customers ad billing info and stuff?
Because we are going to buy another server later (non raq) so what do you say?
My question is if the version there is now will run on a RAQ3?
If not, doesn't anything work or just some raq specific things?
For now we just need the administrative options. Will those work on a RAQ?
thank you...
Boksoft 03-29-2001, 06:56 AM Domenico,
For each platform there needs to be a different version for the software. The current version will not run on a RAQ simply because of incompatibility issues.
The program will run as a whole or won't run at all. So you will need to wait approx. 2 weeks on the RAQ version.

Starhost 03-29-2001, 10:04 AM That would be really great! Would you like to notify me when it's released, by posting a message into this forum? And then 1 more question. What will the raq(3) Version cost? In Guilders (ja guldens = Dutch) in Euro's and in US-dollars.
Thanx!
Boksoft 03-29-2001, 10:27 AM The pricing will be the same for RAQ:
US$ 750
EU€ 850
FL 1870
Prices for companies within the EU are excl.VAT. if applicable.
I will post a message in the advertising forum when the RAQ version is released.
Starhost 03-29-2001, 11:33 AM PLease also post a message on this forum, because I don't read the edvertise forum alot. And is it possible to let somebody buy the package in the US for me? Because I don't like to pay 19% VAT. I know I can get it back but though I rather don't pay it first.
Boksoft 03-29-2001, 11:53 AM I think I'm required to post such announcements in the advertising forum...
If the payment comes from outside the EU, then no VAT is required. So if you can arrange that with someone, then that's fine with us too.
Arnoud
Chicken 03-29-2001, 09:52 PM Yeah, we're uhhhh, kinda getting away from clarification. Don't skip the advertsing forum! Lots of good deals posted! Feel free to communicate via email as well :)
Domenico 03-30-2001, 05:52 AM I only want to know if the normal version does work on the RAQ3, works for 50% or doesn't work at all...
thank you.
Boksoft 03-30-2001, 06:50 AM Doesn't work at all
Domenico 03-30-2001, 05:09 PM Hmmm, so are you saying that i need two buy two versions now?
We have a RAQ but we are going to buy a linux box too :-(
Domenico
Boksoft 03-30-2001, 05:13 PM You will need one license per server. We can only allow you to "transfer" a license when your hostname/IP changes on the same physical server.
