Hello

Does mehost have phone support ? I do not know how can I contact them.

I can not reach my sites there for the last 4 hours and their own site is dwon so mails bounce back too.

I even tried pwebtech support phones to warn them but no one is there.

Check their WHOIS records for the domain to see if a phone number is listed.

I don't know if this is the correct company, but it wont hurt to try.

BTW, it seems only the web services are down. POP3 and SMTP are fine along with FTP.

PWebtech has answered my email and has told the server is fixed.

First time everything was down but this time apache is down on their server. Other services are ok.

Tried restarting the services but no luck on my end. Might have to goto the server and kick it.

Hey! Timmay! Get your hands off that! :D

According my monitoring accounts (with 3 different free and paid services including Alertra with 8 test mirrors) we have had more than 7:30 hours of down time (http and server) today.

Customers ring one by one :(

One of our mehost servers had a pretty serious kernel corruption on reboot that onsite techs (in telehouse nyc) coudln't fix with our assistance. We had to go onsite to fix it. All services where restored on that box at roughly 9am est.

Gee, that's nice to know. But, my site is still down. Guess I'm going shopping.

Hey Me,

Apache still down

Server load is over 140. Even if apache comes up it will not be able to handle http connections for a long time and will hang up again.

Something causes such high loads. An hour ago at a moment I saw that named has used 95% of CPU load.

Anyway I think it would be better if they could place mehost's own site on pwebtech's servers. (at least helpdesk was available now).

Mac, we just sent out a bunch of emails just before downtime to customers who's sites were setup and ready to go, do you have ANY idea how long that "will not be able to handle http connections for a long time " is gonna be, we're in deep **** since recently changing to mehost(on my advice... :bawling: )because too much problems with recent server...

Thanks for any replies with useful info,
Mabra

Techs are working to resolve this issue asap.

Please be patient. This server was up for over 170 days prior to this problem.

I think you should issue a refund for this month. (Or at least partial). I must issue credit to my own users to compensate the down time. (HTTP and Server have been down for 11:30 hours now.)

I don't know why it takes such a long time to fix this for a reputable company as yours.

Try again. All appears OK here.

You would think a company this size would have a better plan to deal with these kinds of issues. Very upsetting. I had several large customers call and read me the riot act today. ouch.

The response plan is sound. The problems where large and have now been resolved.

Yeah Mac, thats a thought of mine too, how can it take so long to get things fixed?

About your idea about (at least partial) refund is a good idea, but I am not that concerned about that (cash) actually, what I do think would be good in cases like this is to get an email sent to me explaining there is problems (and why) and that it is being worked on! I mean, I discovered early morning CET that my sites were down and still down when I got home in evening, then you starts wonderng whats going on, right.

So, yes some kind of refund for those that had problems(all???), why not as a cheaper charge next time billed? but more important, ask customers for a secondary non mehost based email to where there is an email sent explaining whats going on.

If mehost goes on as before it woun't be often though! They have provided me very good hosting without disturbances so far(until yesterday then lol, but thats also a proof of that you shall not relax too much as things have worked so well for so long and not have preparations enough for when these kinds of things happens), so this is just a small tip to make things even better, ok.

Just my 2 cents worth!
