I'm in charge of marketing for my company and I am trying to get opinions from web resellers to determine how to best position our product to them. I hope this doesn't sound too much like an advertisement... it isn't meant to be one. We have not yet determined if web resellers and designers are a good market for us.
We have developed a platform for easily creating member to member interactive web sites that can be highly customized. You might consider us if you didn't want to learn PHP or Cold Fusion, or you wanted to provide some interactive features to customers much more quickly than you could program them yourself.
We offer an ASP hosting solution and a licensed product, but specifically interested in the ASP arrangement for this query.

Questions
So if you take it on faith that we have something you would want to use (we save you significant time in developing stuff a lot of different customers are asking you for)...
1) Would offering a percentage of ongoing hosting revenue for customers you refer make a difference in your decision to use an ASP? How much of a difference?
2) Would a lump sum amount for each referral be more attractive or less attractive than monthly income on referrals?
3) Are there any issues with using an ASP that are of concern to you?
4) How would you do it, if you were in our shoes? Would you target this audience at all?
Thanks for your time.
