Hi guys,
A friend of mine is in a bit of a bind. He has a domain that he registered with his web host, http://www.vividign.com/
I think things were fine for a while but now Vividign has vanished without a trace - 800 number is disconnected, support emails go unanswered, site is down.
Does he have any hope of recovering the domain?
- domain is wholesaled by Tucows
- my friend is listed as admin contact but the email is domains@koolcom.net

Has he tried contacting Tucows?
If he can prove he purchased the domain and all the contact details are his (minus the e-mail) they might be able to verify his ownership.

Cool. Any idea what the best way to contact them would be?
http://domainhelp.tucows.com/ says if you're having trouble contact your provider, you're supposed to click a link to http://changeprovider.tucows.com/ (which is down...)
I'm pretty sure their offices are in my city, maybe I'll just stop by...

http://helpcenter.tucows.com/Email.php
That link was at the top of the "Domain Help" website's index page. :)

You may or may not be able to login to this and change the e-mail and/or obtain the key for your domain:
https://manage.opensrs.net/

Call them....tucows/opensrs email support is useless.

I refereed a client of mine to
http://adminchange.com/
for a similar situation and after some struggle he was able to transfer his domain to us.
You can try the same.
All you need is to access
http://manage.opensrs.net
You can ask them to email your login details at your admin email address (or friends) .
Once you login there, click on Domain Details and get the Auth-Code
and unlock the domain name.
Start a registrar transfer through another registrar web site and use the Auth-Code
Or you can ask Opensrs to move your domain to another reseller of theirs.

Hi guys - forgot to update you on progress. Domain was recovered through Tucows support and everything is fine now.
