Hello Everyone,

Does only networksolutions.com register .edu domain names. I have to do for one college out here. Strange but this is the first time i am actually looking to host and register a .edu site .

Anyplace where it can be done for < 70 usd ( the net sol price)

Thanks and Regards,

I am not 100% sure, but I think that only Network Solutions can register edu domains.

Yes, only Network Solutions can register them. In addition, they're available only to United States colleges/universities that grant 4-year degrees.

Only to colleges/ Univs who give 4 years grad degrees would be true but i dont think it is Unites States only

We have many colleges/ Universities out here who have .edu domains
I can remember nmims.edu (It is a management post grad college here)

I am from Bombay-India

So i think only Us colleges is no longer valid.
Anyway my question is answered i have to do through Networksolution.com

Perhaps he means "free" in the sense of being available to anyone who can prove they are representing a 4-year-degree college.

Well to register .edu you need to prove that you are representing a 4 year degree college anyway. Otherwirse, you won't get it... So, that does not make it free. As far as I know it, .edu if indeed free. And yes, it's not for US institutions only... It's given also for any institutions abroad.
