Well, I just finished talking to a host gator employee about some things about their reseller hosting, and what struck me as strange is they told me that if i set up a another reseller account either from them or somewhere else, i couldn't use the remote access key in WHM to use in WHMCS to be able to create more accounts. Is this possible, or could it be the person i was talking to just didn't understand me.

it's possible, there has to be a few ports opened on both servers, either the rep didn't understand you or didn't know what you were referring to.

Yes, it could be a purely technical issue (outgoing ports blocked at the firewall), or a licensing issue (their agreement with WHMCS could involve a restricted license) or just a commercial decision. In any case, since they provide the software they can impose whatever rules they want.

Thats weird, but again, as njoker555 and foobic have said, it can be done by ports.
Maybe, to be sure, chat with another staff member there and see if they say he same thing?

I would ask them if ports 2086 and 2087 were open for remote access to WHM.

the thing about some hosts is that they refuse to open any additional ports for their clients no matter what. Not sure if hostgator does it but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
That's one possibility and the other is what I said above :)
