View Full Version : Which is the best registrar to resell domains from?
warrive 02-02-2009, 12:03 PM Hey guys,
I am interested in getting a reseller to resell domains.
So far after doing some research I gathered ResellerClub, eNom, NetEarth.
Among these 3, which is the best? Also if I happened to miss out any that is better than the 3, please list them here as well. I would be greatful if anyone could share their experience with these registrars that leases out reseller accounts. Thank you all!
peter_anderson 02-02-2009, 12:43 PM For me, it's NetEarthOne.
The only reason I don't use them is I dont like Logicboxes.
Another one is www.dotster.com (one of the largest domain registrars in the world)
warrive 02-02-2009, 01:11 PM I am quite interested in eNom hearing that they are very reputable. Does anyone happen to know the price guide for .com registrations for eNom base resellers? The base price of a .com registration at ResellerClub is $9.49 which is pretty high.

Netearthone use the same CP as ResellerClub, but are cheaper and actually have support :)

So does ResellerClub. Never had problem with there support and it's even quite easy to get with specific problems to the developers.

It quite depends on what your requirements are. A registrar which is the best for my business case may be useless for use.
For all three you listed you find plenty of information in this forum. Read through those thread and make up your mind.
You will get people for each one of those registrars which will say that it's the best.
serve-you 02-02-2009, 05:23 PM We are currently switching from OpenSRS to NetEarth. I really like NetEarth, but I hate the whole logicboxes system. It's great if you are just starting out, and want a host-in-a-box solution, but it's pretty useless for an established company. That said, we just don't use it. The only thing that sucks, is their management console is tied to it. So if we sell something that isn't managed through the API in whmcs, we have to send customers to their management console, which in turn has links to order stuff through the supersite garbage. You can change this to a custom url, but you are on your own with integration. For now, we just changed this to point at our order form, but this isn't ideal. Also, the custom url is hardcoded as http.
nameslave 02-02-2009, 05:58 PM Another one is www.dotster.com (one of the largest domain registrars in the world)
Hmm ... at 1.2 million domains, Dotster actually ranks 12 worldwide, way behind GoDaddy which is at about 27 million, eNom at 8.5 million, and Tucows almost 7 million.

But that probably doesn't include all the other registrars they own (Domain.com, MyDomain.com, NamesDirect.com, and more)
Reseller Club and NetEarthOne both use the Logic Boxes control panel. Which i don't like very much. eNom is the biggest Reselling Registrar and has a good Control Panel. I'd go with them.

Second. I would recommend either of those too. I prefer both over ENOM actually. I think NE1 is getting rid of LogixBox sometimes this year and rolling out their own solution.

If my math is correct, NamesDirect (which already includes MyDomain) adds only about half a million to the count; HOWEVER, we then have to throw in Wild West Domains, which sends a whopping 3 million to GoDaddy, and is itself the 7th largest registrar.

I would say: Resellerclub. Free id protection

This is free with most reputable reseller friendly registrars. This should only be taken into consideration if a registrar *does not* offer this.

eNom: Privacy protection is costly.
RC: even their highest slab is not having the lowest prices in market
NE: their prices are amazing, I say go for them :)
