I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I'm looking for a system to create and maintain reasonable simple webpages.
Ideally I'm looking for a open source script, which allows to create and update small websites to present the owner, including a way to add subpages and upload files.
I've been looking at Joomla, PHP-Nuke and a few others, but they all seem too complicated and with too many features.
Our customers would be novice computer users, so it will have to be simple to use.
If anyone can suggest a script or program I'd really appreciate it.

Check out demos of other CMSs at opensourcecms.com and similar sites; evaluate their merits; check their feedback in forums; see if they are being actively maintained and select the ones that are suited best. If nothing fits your requirement completely, you may want to modify an open source cms or get a custom cms developed.

Check out Wordpress MU (http://mu.wordpress.org/) also.

I second Wordpress. Try it out and I'm sure it'll fit your needs.
