Well I wasn't sure where to post this, so I posted here. Mods please move this if it's in the wrong spot.

Now, as some of you know I posted a request in the requests forum looking for a server, but I did state that it was pretty much unreasonable for what I was looking for. That said, is there anybody that is looking for a dedicated server for NON-BUSINESS purposes that might like to go in on one with me?

I'd be willing to pay more per month than the partner, but would need to talk with him/her first to work out specific details.

I say non-business because it's for personal use and I don't want to start selling space when I'm not a hosting company, and if a hosting company is looking to get going, then they should have their own servers, not sharing with a guy who isn't using it for business.

All that being said, please let me know if anybody is interested.

Yeah, I'm gettin desperate here, but hey, it doesn't hurt to explore all posibilities, even if they don't work out. I'm an open minded guy and like to explore all angles before I give up or submit to one form. :)

curious....if the host lets you use 1/2 the server, what difference does it make?? you'd just be their client

if a hosting company needed to add another server to its line, and you need the resources of a dedicated server, wouldn't it be in the best interests of both parties if they hosted you on 1/2 the server? you'd be guaranteed 1/2 the server at 1/2 the cost, and the same goes for the host

Yeah I need/want root access, along with other things. I like to play around a lot so I can figure out what stuff does that I haven't messed with yet.

I'm still relatively new to the whole server administration deal so that's why I like playin around.

Nah, because I need the bandwidth and space and stuff. I mean if nobody wants to go in with me then I'll find a way to afford the server I want, but I thought I might just explore this aspect as well.
