Andrew 09-18-2002, 10:27 PM You just decided you wanted a refund now? What kept you?
On a serious note, try emailing 2checkout. I hear they've been handing out some refunds.

Sept 16 update
I got an email from Shawn J White yesterday. The exchange follows:

> Laurie,

Shawn,
I will await confirmation from 2checkout on this issue. I am sure you understand. Your word doesn't hold a lot of weight with me. If 2checkout confirms it, I will post it.
I'd like to see you pay your former "employees" in the meantime.
Laurie
Here is 2checkout's statement:
On 9/15/02 10:41 PM, Tom added a note to the human symphony when this was said:
Obviously I can't confirm or deny any statements made.
If refunds are made to customers who paid via credit card thru 2checkout.com, and the refund is to their credit card, it only stands to reason that the refund had to come via 2checkout.com admin panels. We never store credit card information, that is the responsibility of the payment gateway. You would need to connect the dots to figure out who would be the one funding those refunds.
If the refunds have been of the cash/ check/ money order variety, they would have been done without any knowledge (or funding) by 2checkout.com
(disclaimer)
The above is for "information purposes" on the way refunds happen using 2checkout.com, and not in any way a confirmation, denial or a discussion on, the situation regarding Cyberwings.

You're in luck it seems. .
CEO Shawn has given me his personal, and I do mean personal, guarantee that all refunds were issued on August 9. There has been a slight delay in getting the checks certified. The 7 Eleven was recently closed for extensive remodeling.
If you haven't already filed a refund request, you weren't in that group. So go to cyberwings home page, complete their "premier refund questionaire" and a file a ticket.
No further contact with Shawn is needed or desired. You'll know the remodeling has been completed when you get the check.
coight 09-19-2002, 02:02 PM xxsapphyxx have you been living under a rock for the past 6 months? :D
MilkMan 09-19-2002, 02:24 PM You're kidding right?
xxsapphyxx 09-19-2002, 04:39 PM no i know that cyberwings has been down and ceashed i asked for a rebuild(i relize that was stupid now) I've been trying to find a way to get a refund but no one answers me.
Gordo cyberwings is no longer up their helpdesk is down and so are all their sites. Cyberwings is dead i my opinion
Cyberwings is dead in my opinion
and xxsappyxx finally sees the light!
UnkleMunky 09-20-2002, 01:48 AM From what I hear, 2Checkout and Paypal, have both been trying to do their best for customers, so contact 2Checkout in your case and see if they can help you....that's your best bet.
Also....just to be on record, goto Yepo (http://www.yepo.com) and file your refund request there.....it doesn't actually get you your refund, but it helps log that you have requested a refund and you'll see that you're not alone.....even if CW "loses" the information, refund requests at Yepo remain, so log your request there as well.....at least for the record! :)
Take care....
Michael
ProWebs 09-24-2002, 12:00 AM lol...cyberwings was "dead" a long time ago.
and, imo, you won't see your money ever again. i was only able to receive mine through what MAY HAVE BEEN harassment*.
*Disclaimer (for the lawyers Shawn allegedly has): The term "harassment" does not necessarily imply that ANY harassment from Nick Saunders aimed at Shawn White or any Cyberwings personnel actually occurred. It is a loosely-used term to encompass various measures taken to retrieve Nick Saunders' refund, including demands via IRC, public truth-telling, and the filing of a rip-off report by Nick Saunders. If reproduced, this posting or any part thereof must include this disclaimer.
WildCard 09-24-2002, 03:32 AM Notice how the figure on Yepo has jumped up since the CW webpage went down?
Prowebs, nice disclaimer. heh.

Payment Method(s): paypal Amount: $ 10000.00
Maybe entries like this have something to do with it climbing so high? Wish people wouldn't do things like this, it makes the $$$ amounts meaningless.
tlkchp 09-25-2002, 02:39 AM xxsapphyxx, I found out first hand if you used 2checkout.com to purchase hosting from the "C" Word, you can goto 2checkout.com to Request a Refund.
Other people have just figured out from posting on this site that "C" is gone bye bye.
I refered them to the site and they promptly received a reply from 2checkout.com about their Refund.
Within (2) business days I and others had the purchase price Refunded to our Credit Cards in Full.
I must say that I will use 2checkout.com if possible in the Future.
It was a Saving Grace. :D:
2Grumpy 09-25-2002, 04:20 AM I'd love to be a fly on the wall at 2checkout when they discuss CW they've gotta be in the hole a few K by now on his account. Surely they'll have to sue I suspect they're losing a few bucks on Shawn by now.

dont know about 2checkout, but paypal was no help and in fact just sent form letters out basically saying too bad on you.
WildCard 09-25-2002, 06:41 PM Agreed, paypal was as helpful as a steaming pile of dog poo in this situation.
Really showed me how bad they are in regards to fraud response.

Whoops, my mistake. I first thought you were referring to Shawn, then I noticed I had skipped over the word "steaming."
