Evening all,
ok, small reseller with a few business and some personal accounts - 11 in total.
Not happy with current host, taken over last year by some other no-name outfit and support is slow. No real gripes but as they now want me to pay for the whmcs (free originally), which I played with initially but have done nothing with, I'd like to move to a host that can offer that guiding hand as, like many others at this time no doubt, I now need the hosting side of my life to start earning it's keep.
Not sure what I'm after really, if I'm honest, but some suggestions from the more experienced members would be appreciated.
Figures from the last few months show that max bandwidth is never more than 1gb per month!!! Max space used is under 400mb!!!
Now then, I'd like these numbers to change obviously, but that's down to me and networking to build on in the near future, so room to grow is required
Currently paying over $120 for 5GB/80GB seems overkill for what I'm using.
I need to automate the billing side and start getting folk to pay what they should be!!
I'm thinking that ClientExec would be fine for the billing, and is cheaper but I have no experience with this so support would be required. I'd have no problems staying with whmcs, but the price has to be right.
It's the guiding hand that I need more than anything (the support is for me and a couple of lads who will be coming on board, not for end users), with the host being pro rather than re - active, too many times I've had to chase when I've been told by my customers/friends of a problem.
So to sum up:
Reseller plan either UK or US
Domain reseller
Billing/domain/acct mgmt
Cpanel preferably
5GB Space
20-30GB Bandwidth
Flexible host
Good support from host, not needed for end users.
A rambling post, thanks for reading and your suggestions.

That is way too much money for what your asking for!

I'd recommend looking at the following hosts:
www.hawkhost.com
www.scarabweb.com
www.hostgator.com
www.innohosting.com

You can easily get these features from any reasonable reseller provider plus or minus maybe a billing system such as Client Exec being included for FREE. Some providers even throw all of that together and include even more. A bit of searching should return a bunch of great reseller results, if your budget is right :)

Knew I should have put in "per year"!
I would edit the original comment to clarify but it won't let me, thanks for the suggestions/comments so far!!

If you do not need support for your end users you might be willing to have VPS server instead?
I suppose that for your current needs that will be more suitable.

Try out the Reseller advetising forum here, there are some very good offers there.
Success! ;)
WHMCS is also a very nice option.

Actually, that seems pretty fairly priced, if not even too cheap. You seem to be willing to let go of some data transfer, but in reality, that's the bit that often hosts value the least, so the savings cannot be significant.
An account like you're asking for, at the pricing you're after, is going to be a low entry package for your host. These packages are doomed to be the least competitively priced, because the overhead makes up the bulk of their cost. With billing software included in the package, I'm afraid that you need a bigger budget to find a provider with a decent reputation, unless you manage to take advantage of a special offer.

Agreed. $120 per year is not really an overkill for the requirement that you have listed. Since you are not using that much space and bandwidth yet, I advise you to go for a smaller plan and upgrade only when you need more resources. :agree:

Yes go to the Reseller advetising forum here on WHT... That's what its here for.. Ask a couple of resellers if they can give you a better price - It's a buyers market, it does'nt hurt to ask......

You might be able to get what you need by paying for a year upfront or a special offer.
But if you consider that the billing software does cost the provider it's quite a low budget.
