Hello,
I keep about 100 domains registrated for different customers. Now I would like to change domain registrar for all of them, is there any simple way to transfer all domains to a new registrar without it affecting the customers? I'm using AWBS for domain management, so I assume I would have to change the settings for those domains there as well through the database directly.
Regards
Oskar
Depending on the new registrar, they will have an option "Bulk Transfer." Basically you can put up to 250 or 500 domains at a time, depending on the registrar, then just bulk transfer.
There will be 0 downtime because all the changes take place at the registry and all they need to do is switch your domains from your old registrar to the new registrar and all the WHOIS and NameServer info are ported, all this is done automatically.
But be careful, some registrar's have the option to NOT port all the data, so make sure you choose the option to keep all the information as it is currently at your old registrar.
If you tell us which registrar you are planning to transfer all the domains to we can be more specific as to what to expect.

An email will be sent to the admin registered as the admin so you would need to notify them so that they can approve the transfer.

Hi Oskar,
Is there any possibility in AWBS that you could set all domains to transfer on the renew date i.e.
(1) Have both registrars setup in AWBS
(2) All new domain registration by default occurs with the new registrar
(3) When domains registered through old registrar come up for renewal they are transferred.
(4) Once no more domains are with the old registrar cancel the account with them.
