is it right to go after an author simply exercising freedom of expression? yes? no? why?

i am a muslim and i don't think its right to go after this author... i mean... if they go after him, then where will it stop? they go after anybody that insults another group?

but then again... isn't it right to go after anybody that writes that is say... anti-homosexual? anti-jewish?

I think all these "religious" discussions are stupid.. why cant people be a little more tolerant of another persons views or believes?? i think everyone has become just waaaay to conscience and uptight about other religions and what people are saying about them...
