Hi
Does anyone actually know how the Revecom system verifies credit card payments?
I ask because I am at the stage of setting up a Revecom account using TPP-PRO.
I have just entered 2 test payments using my own credit card (no test credit card is available - which I find annoying) BUT on one payment I entered a false postal/zip code and on the other a bogus name and address. In each case payment was approved? The client was then redirected to my 'payment approved' script and so was treated as a paid up client.
I find this disheartening since Revecom charge a cool $1 per transaction for providing this 'verification' service.
Am I missing something?
Thanks
Kevin

It can take them up to about 30 hours to perform a verification I've found. Verifications are done by humans as far as I'm aware, so the best practice is to not give instant access to your content if you can avoid it.

Hi
This really surprises me. Most payment systems do automatic verification against address and post/zip code.
I already paid for the Revecom account and like what I see very much but this feature is really a major flaw. I am using this account for a membership site and want to give sign-ups instant access. So it is not good
Thanks

They actually verify the credit card automatically, at first to authorize the transaction, this doesn't show up on the test mode.
This is so you can test your account without getting charged the $1 authorization fee, which was annoying to begin with.
They run fraud checks to verify the card later, anything suspicious is flagged for human review, but they can take 36 hours or longer to settle the order, so like joshp sed, avoid giving immediate access to content.

Hi
I submitted a support request to Revecom and been told this has been rerouted to their IT/Programming sectio. So I await a response
The main problem I see in this is actually with genuine users -
The user actually sees a payment confirmed page generated by Revecom - so they think the payment is ok.
The client also receives an email from Revecom saying payment is ok.
These DO NOT include a phrase like - 'confirmed subject to further verification'
So as far as the client is concerned payment HAS been taken
BUT it is not unknown for a genuine user to make a typo in address or especially post/zip code so I guess the Revecom verification will then void the payment because there is no tie up between CC and Address.
We then have to go contacting the client and explain that (despite them receiving a payment confirmed message and email) payment wasn't after all accepted and err would they mind paying again.
It comes over very unprofessional
I currently use MultiCards and their verification system is automatic and does check available credit on the card, address verification etc - instantly.
I have been using MultiCards for years and the only thing I don't like are the way they treat non-US client addresses which makes setting up automatic payment for UK clients real tricky. Also at 9% their transaction charge is high.
Maybe the fact that the actual credit card is verified by Revecom (not against name, address and post/zip code) is good enough?
Am I reading too much into this?
Thanks

Your not wrong this is really annoying, I don't recommend revecom for high volume, that said they are good cheap option for those starting out. AND they accept international merchants.
Our main problem is they match IP address to postal address... we have tones of clients paying with UK credit cards whilst in spain... and rather irritatingly I always get a dappy newbie when I need online support and I have to tell him/her their job!!!
