Hi,

I just found this board and have spent the last several days reading through all the great information here.

I'm a victim of sorts - I've had 3 bad hosting experiences right in a row. Either it would take 36-48 hours to get an answer from support, or the host didn't offer all it seemed it did, or the host is down more often than not.

My main criteria are:

1. UNIX/Linux - because of some scripts I need for security purposes
2. Uptime!!!!
3. Responsive support
4. Some kind of trial period - I have spent and wasted money I don't have on my previous 3 nightmares and I want to be sure before I become a sucker for the 4th time
5. Cron jobs would be nice for future use
6. All the basic features starting at about 250 MB

I'm trying to start a paid membership site and it is necessary that the site be up or I'm going to be faced with all kinds of chargebacks and having your site down isn't the best way to build a good reputation.

I'm currently thinking about elitehosts.com but I'm not sure. I've searched the board and didn't come up with a whole lot of good or bad except 1 user who had a bad experience and then changed his mind once they fixed the problem.

Any thoughts on them or others?

Thanks for any input.

You would get a much better response if you posted this in the requests topic under the adverts section of the forums.

Hello,

I believe if you post your request in the right forum, you'll get lots of offers from good hosting providers.

Simply Click Here (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=32) and you'll be taken to Web Hosting Requests forum.

Have a wonderful day.

I know you are new, so I will post part of the rules since you love breaking this one:

Participants who are associated with a web hosting company may not use the main Forums to direct others to the advertising Forums.

Thanks,
Patrick

Yes. The issue is that when host suggest someone to look to the advertising forums, they are right there waiting to pounce on the poor person when they open the thread there. "Look at my offer!!!". It is like putting out a piece of cheese, then "Snap". Kind of like what you did.

Someone will eventually come by and suggest it that is not a host. They almost always do. If they don't, then I guess you'll have to try and advertise your services to someone else.

Take care. :)

when you are looking for a good webhost, try looking for the company history, because a lot of companies come and go and you never know what the quality is of the company until you look at their track record.
