Thank you very much. CArmstrong 01-14-2009, 03:04 PM No, this isn't allowed. You can only promote your own services in the ad forums. " You can post in the ad forums when: "Why Can't I Post In The Advertising Forums? There are a few reasons why this might happen. 1) You must have at least 10 quality* posts before you can post an ad. 2) You must be a member on WHT for at least 7 days before you can post an ad. 3) You must only post 1 ad in each advertising forum per 7 days. 4) You have made 10 posts and been a member for 7 days, but must wait upto an hour to be upgraded." http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=585586 qualityfasthosting 01-14-2009, 03:36 PM Ok Thanks you very much for this. I will wait till I get 5 posts, Someone can close this as My questions has been delt with. bear 01-14-2009, 03:39 PM Just for the record, it's not just linking you can't do, even if you think you can offer them what they need. The main forums are not for advertising, so you can't ask anyone to PM, email or provide a means to contact them in regards to your services or products. Ads and promotion in the advertising forum sections only. ;) qualityfasthosting 01-14-2009, 03:59 PM Ok Thanks I will make sure I stay by the rules, Just to clarify could you link them to the market section where your thread is and can you put your site in your sig? And I have seen users do this but not sure if it is allowed can you put.com after your name if its the name of you site, Sorry for all the questions Just want to make sure I don’t get banned. btw bear are you the owner? Thanks for all your help in advance. bear 01-14-2009, 04:27 PM Just to clarify could you link them to the market section where your thread is No you can't. If you have a current ad, and you direct someone to go look at it, that would be seen as self promotion. and can you put your site in your sig? Yes, once you're allowed a signature. There are rules about those as well, however. Did you read any of them yet? And I have seen users do this but not sure if it is allowed can you put.com after your name if its the name of you site For a username? No. That was a more recent rule change and a few still exist in that form. btw bear are you the owner? I wish! :agree: No, I just help out on the forum, along with a number of other folks. Thanks for all your help in advance. You're welcome. :wht: Steve_Arm 01-14-2009, 04:28 PM As I just noticed looks like the font at the rules is really tiny. ldcdc 01-14-2009, 04:44 PM As I just noticed looks like the font at the rules is really tiny. I think it helps to keep the page relatively short. We wouldn't want members to think that the rules will take as long to read as a novel would. :D Abhishek104 01-14-2009, 04:46 PM I have another question why are my posts not being counted? I want to be able to post similies and links!!! bear 01-14-2009, 05:09 PM Have a read here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=585586 qualityfasthosting 01-14-2009, 05:51 PM I did read the rules but I scanned thought because it was one big post if you made a shot version of it for new members I think that would help. anon-e-mouse 01-14-2009, 06:17 PM I did read the rules but I scanned thought because it was one big post if you made a shot version of it for new members I think that would help. There's a short version right at the top. The basic ground rules for discussions on WebHostingTalk are simple: be polite, use common sense, don't break the law and don't post any message that even hints at advertising. andr109 01-16-2009, 02:23 PM it is desirable, you will be a good member and give us many new interesting things. |
