I'm having my design completed and am playing with the rough mock up. Which of the two do you think looks best?

Although I like blue color (generally) In this case I will choose red buttons because they makes more harmony with rest of site

I would choose red buttons: fits better with page, more emphasized etc.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to note... the blue buttons are messed up in the screenshot... so the blue buttons would be fixed up and made to look nicer.
So keeping this in mind you guys still prefer the red buttons? The blue buttons make the header look less cluttered?
It seems the red is winning, keep the opinions coming. They are helpful because I cannot make up my mind :D

I have to make a suggestion that might make you go even crazier with the decision!
Try using the red buttons, but turn them upside down so they are positioned like the blue buttons. Try playing around with that. Or even better yet, you can make the blue buttons contrast more by using something like #1199DD (just a color guess).

I would go with the red to fit the colours on the site. The blue do look nice though.

Maybe if they weren't tabs it would look better that way. You could always try making them rectangular to meet with the blue bar (no space in between). But, yes, the original red looks better.

You didn't want to try and make them rectangular?

I like the red buttons. As another poster mentioned, they stand out more.

The red tabs looked a lot better to me, and I felt they looked the best when they were above the menu line rather than hanging below it. Basically, your first revision.
The design looks pretty unique though, good luck with it!

No, I meant upside but rectangles that have a height equal to the height of the blue bar + the height of the red bar. Those still have rounded corners at the top.
It was just a recommendation anyway.

I like the red buttons. The gradient makes them appear "shiny" and gives them a web 2.0 feel. Good luck to whatever you decide! :)

However the wooden signs are probably still too heigh. What type of font type and size are you planning on using?
You can tell that most fonts will be too small for the large wooden background.

The original red buttons pointing upwards looks the best in my opinion.
The red "balances" with the reds on the left of the image. They also stand out much better, than when pointing downwards.

i think red buttons also nice but maybe you can make it a bit smaller for compact look like the blue ones.

Mate.. are you going to sell parrots on this site??? It's looks childish. I don't mean any harm. Just voicing my opinion. Try something web 2.0 design with this.. The palm tree leaves doesn't look good.

I don't like the upside-down red buttons as much as the right-side-up. The upside-down ones look kind of... smushed to me.

Juliet, remove one of the parrots.

My vote is for RED

I prefer the look of the blue buttons on top of all the orange and red.
The blue buttons stand out more with the strong color choices of red and orange. I think you already have plenty of the red and orange with strong presence.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I read online about colors and I'll pass along a quick version of how I sum it all up. They suggested orange and red for strength but to subdue it with another color to tone down the strength. I pick BLUE. The red buttons of red/orange just get lost when I look. I also read that green and blue are a color used by banks and it is both gender pleasing. So I vote for your blue.
