Most providers have standard plans and prices. And may offer 1/3/6/12 month terms... Curious which plan and term is the most popular? Do you find giving discounts helps increase long term packages?

Most of our customers pay monthly, but yearly is very close behind.

The majority of our plans 98% would be monthly. We use to offer yearly but noticed that we had a higher fraud rate. We do have fraud measures in place.

Our most popular is our Special Plan which you can view on our front page, and we offer monthly, semi annually...etc, but the discount we give is, if you pay in advance, you get a larger long term discount off your bill.
Ex. If you pay Yearly, you will save more than just paying monthly.

Some will pay in advance if there is a signiificant discount but most clients would only do that with a business they was confident with either having been in business a few years or someone they are convinced wont go nowhere.
I offer 15% off for quarterly plans and 20% off for yearly. From what i have seen it seems to be about the average for digital goods like hosting.
The first year we didnt get many prepays but after that we get about 1 out of every 5 new clients pay in advance.
I recommend giving at least 10% for quarterly and at least 15% for annually. You have to make it significant. If your plans was $5 a month and you only offered a 5% discount it would only be $3 off so most people wont even bother with that.
Overall I find that when trying to establish a hosting business you are better off having everyone on monthly to help make your budget easier. Offer the advance plans for the clients convenience but don't push them is my advice until you are better established and have been around a while.

With previous brands, I use to offer 12 months, 24 months and 36 months, which worked out well. However, I think customers are getting a lot more concerned with the length of sign up required.
We charge monthly now, with pre-payments as optional. Works out better for everyone involved!

Majority of clients on a monthly billing cycle. It's my opinion that most of annual clients signup for the fact they don't have to worry about bills for 1 year. The discount is usually quite minimal when dealing with yearly fees under $100-200.

For our services it seems an annual billing cycle is being used alot more than any other. In 2nd place comes bi-annual, and tied for 3rd is biennial (every 2 years) and monthly.
I'm sure it varies quite a bit depending on the provider.

Most of our clients buy single domain account or a reseller account, They tend to purchase on a monthly basis I think this is because most people will not know much about any host at first. we also get allot of yearly sigh ups but we do offer 2 months discount for this.

Most popular plans are monthly but yearly option is very close behind as most hosts will offer a big discount if you pre-pay.

Most new customers go for the cheapest plan and the shortest term, but about 3/4 of customers who have been here more than 2 years pay yearly, and need higher-level packages.

We offer monthly rates with discounts for quarterly and annually. A good chunk of our customers do take advantage of the annual discount - which is also best for us.

Monthly is the favorite, especially recently. No one seems to want to commit to extended terms even with substantial discounts.

Yep, I must agree. Monthly is the way to go!
All our customers are monthly.

Speaking from a client perspective, I prefer monthly if it's $5+ monthly. If it's less than $5 monthly, I'm likely to just go for annual.

Our most popular plan is the cheapest one we offer and in terms of billing terms, it is very close between monthly and annually (with discount).

so far we used yearly pre-payments but are actually also considering [not yet implemented] switching to monthly or quarterly payments with a discount/set-up fee system
it all depends on the services contracted

Depends on what market you are dealing with, all of my clients are paying yearly whether they are $36 or $960 but then almost all of my clients came through recommendations.

3 Month Term has been very popular recently. Not sure why.
