Are there any FREE standalone support applications out there?
Like an email system as If I had staff using outlook express no-one would know what emails have been replied to and if someone downloads emails no-one esle gets them. So are there any standalone applications (.exe) out there that will get around those problems, and are any FREE?

I think you would have a better chance of finding something that is web based. This way all of the emails are placed into a tracking system so you will know which have been replied to and which have not. Something like PerlDesk may be something you should look at.

Perldesk looks really complicated to install. Any Tips? Any PHP alternatives?

I do believe that there is a phpdesk as well that offer functionality that is close to perldesk. You may want to do a search for it here in the forums as I don't have a url for it.

I dont know what is so complicated in Perldesk to install. I find it very useful.

There's phpsupportdesk, which is very nice, but not free.
Ticketsmith is nice. :)
