Which one should i purchase for my server - InstantSSL or ipsCA?

InstantSSL is priced at $49 per year ($89 - 2 yrs.)

ipsCA is priced at $38 per year ($69 - 2 yrs), it also has $59 - 2 yrs Competitive though differences between Competitive ($59) and the $69 one is unknown.

Anyone using these can tell the differences between these two? InstantSSL and ipsCA, also about their browser compatibility.. and any other issues...

If you look at the browser compatability .. you will see that InstantSSL is 99 percent .. ipsca has really awful compatability... like you will miss out on literaly millions of users!!! Really ipsca should be free, like other CAs dishing out browser coverage less than 90 ...

Some CAs are also lying about coverage ... take QuickSSL .. they state 98 percent . although this was set at 95 percent right upto the time InstantSSL launched with the 99 percent root! QuickSSL is only in IE5.01+ ... I read earlier that nearly 50 percent of the internet users use Win98, so 350M users had IE5 ... how many have upgraded? So if we say that 10 percent have not upgraded ... you will be losing out on 35M users!

ipsca has only 80% browser coverage ..only IE 5.01 and above

they have no Netscape or Opera compatibility

also ... whichssl.com states "IPS CA offer fast issuance speed by only validating the domain name of the applicant and not the company legitimacy. IPS CA Server Certificates are $69 for a 2 year Certificate, warranty at this time is unknown."

You have got to look at the thread in the Web Hosting Forum about the future of SSL .... I think you will see how important it is to ensure all certs are fully validated...

I didn't realise until recently the implications of non validated certs ... I'm now really frightened for our industry and would urge all to ensure we don't support the death of e-commerce by purchasing SSL products that are NOT fully validated

fully agreed, but you can't deny that they have used independent stats! At least they have the decency and honesty to show things as they are ;)

if you find any information that cannot be backed up by independent stats pls let us know. I for one will chase them for it as I am an instantssl reseller.

I haven't checked the facts on the site..

But I just don't like how they try to make it look independant, but using another domain, etc, and then include InstantSSL propaganda in the reviews...

If you plan to help inform people about the differnces you just don't toss ads in for your company.. That makes you look bad....

I understand what you are saying, but have a look at the site they have slapped Comodo on each page and I don't think they are hiding the fact. Here is something I have extracted from their website:
"WhichSSL? is operated and edited by Comodo, the Internet Security specialists. Comodo provide the InstantSSL product family. InstantSSL Certificates....."

Credit where due. They have used the facts, you can't deny it and they have been very fair to all SSL providers, unlike the others I could mention such as geotrust and fressl.com which is filled with lies. So compared to other ssl providers like Geotrust who has filled their websites with lies whichssl is a very fair website don't you agree?

What aspects of whichssl is unfair, please let us know so that we can all get in touch with them and tell them to correct it.

umm... for InstantSSL is the way to go it seems...

looking at their Reseller plan, looks like they dun give much discount for the 1 yr InstantSSL
$200 deposit -> Normal $49 - discounted price $42.87..
if i price at $44.95 (keepin $2 for myself) then only i can pass $4 discount to my client... doesn't look very appealing.

What do you think guys? i know you may suggest that deposit $1000 to get more good price... but ahh.. its $1000 !!!

give them a ring and check out if they are running any special deals for september etc. They always have something going from what i know of them.
