Hello
I've just signed up for reseller hosting and in less than 20minutes most of it was all setup I could log into cpanel and whm and my domain address works for me even though it was suppose to take 24-72hours (assume it still will for it to be worldwide though right?)
Anyway I log into whm and theres some things missing compared to the tutorial videos I saw. Theres no account functions at all or anything of the sort to create packages or accounts. Is this just a issue that occurs while it's setup with the domain and everything or should I file a support ticket? Don't want to bug the support staff unless theres actually a problem
thanks for any insight.

Well tutorial videos most likely were made on a different control panel so somethings will be a little different, but if theirs no account management then you should probably check with your host to see where it is. It shouldn't be affected by the dns being set, and it will most likely take 24-72 hours to be worldwide.

Just to clarify the tutorial video was for WHM and I'm assuming the same version too since it was provided on the companies own website. I've filed a support ticket so hopefully we'll find out what's going on soon enough.
Thanks for the quick reply SKaero

Chances are that the tutorial was not made by the host, but bought from a third party provider such as demodemo or demowolf.
In any case, it sounds like you're missing some important features, so there's no reason to be afraid to contact support.

Ask your host, it is a common issue, they will assign an ACL to your reseller or manually add all the features like creating, terminating and managing your accounts. Perhaps they just gave your account reseller priviliges and did not assign the required ACL from reseller center in root's WHM.

Jelly, I think I know who you are... :) I'm going to go out on a limb and say there was a problem in your (cough) account provisioning, which apparently didn't assign your the correct ACL feature list in WHM. I'm guessing that since then, your host has correct your issue ;) A standard WHM without a correct ACL list would like very feature un-rich as you described above.

Howard nailed it, don't be afraid to contact support. They don't bite ;)

I've seen this happen a few times, contact your host and let them know and they'll likely apply an ACL to your reseller account so that you get the features you need.
They shouldn't bite, at least if they want to keep you as a customer!!!

Are you sure the tutorials weren't for the full WHM access, such as the root users would get?

I don't know what WHM access is but the tutorials were for the same whm version I was using. As JPC-Howard and AquariusAdmin mentioned the issue was priviliges and it was quickly resolved in no time at all.

Most probably the host just forgot to add some features to your whm or simply does not provide them. You need to ask your host to be given a clear answer why some features are missing from your whm as we can only guess up here.
