I got a Cobalt RaQ3 from Tera-byte.com and was wondering how I would go about of having it so when someone did a reverse lookup on an IP address, it would show that it's assoicated with a certain domain name. Thanks.

Your best bet is to send them an e-mail asking them to add a PTR record to their in-addr record pointing to your domain name. In otder words, if you want to set up a reverse record for http://www.dim8.com, they would have to edit their in-addr file to look like this: 228 IN PTR http://www.dim8.net. I'm not sure what their policy is on doing this. ML2008 07-05-2001, 06:53 AM Robert C. Rodriguez, have they done it for you and were you able to use your SMTP server to send email with before you added this DNS record? I am trying to figure out why me SMTP server is not relaying for the domains in it. Any ideas? |
