I got a Cobalt RaQ3 from Tera-byte.com and was wondering how I would go about of having it so when someone did a reverse lookup on an IP address, it would show that it's assoicated with a certain domain name. Thanks.

This is most likely a change Tera-Byte will have to make. Your best bet is to send them an e-mail asking them to add a PTR record to their in-addr record pointing to your domain name.

In otder words, if you want to set up a reverse record for http://www.dim8.com, they would have to edit their in-addr file to look like this:



228 IN PTR http://www.dim8.net.



I'm not sure what their policy is on doing this.

Robert C. Rodriguez, have they done it for you and were you able to use your SMTP server to send email with before you added this DNS record?

I am trying to figure out why me SMTP server is not relaying for the domains in it. Any ideas?
