How I can check domain drop date. Any alternative of freewho?

Any whois provider. Only thing is from my experience domains rarely just drop. They either get auctioned or they go in a waiting period of some sort, or they're on auto renew so the owner still owns it for another year, then another year after that and so on. I'm actually waiting on one which I thought auto renewed but it's actually being auctioned off. I bidded but doubt I'll get it (not willing to put thousands). It can be a long process but rewarding if you do end up getting it.
Check out pool.com and snapnames.com you pay a bit more but what they do is they try to snatch it before anyone else. It may or may not work, but you only pay if it worked. From there it could get auctioned (you being automaticly included) if more people registered there too.
