Where looking to use Dell 1550 servers.

we're contimplating using Dell Poweredge 350s for a snazzy dedicated type deal.

Dell offers a good product.

Yeah, like any of the "big name" vendors, their prices are often out of whack.

But, they have a $300 off sale right now on PowerEdge 350's, which makes them a much more attractive deal. They're great for low-end dedicated servers. We're running one as a guinea pig, and it's been doing fine. They're very well put together.

We've been using Penguin Computing Servers http://www.penguincomputing.com for our Linux dedicated servers and have been very happy with the service.

They're reliable, and their support is incredibly responsive. Also, the pricing is great, especially if you are buying in quantity (we buy about 5 a month...not a lot of quantity, but enough to get discounts :)).

One thing I like about Dell is their quality reputation and really good warranty support.

anyone know of any more "small" web server companies, like that penguin computing place.

Intel ISPXXXX servers have 3 waranty on them and aren't as expensive as Dell - and it still sounds good to your customers when you tell them you use Intel branded servers.

All our servers are Dell, and I have to say they are "TOP SHELF".

Yes, they are more money than a Brand X server, but you pay for the quick and excellent support and for great hardware matching configurations. They test all their hardware to make sure they will play together nicely.

I would recommend them to anyone.
