This is non-negotiable. Quoted from the Rules (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/rules.php):
You must make five (5) posts before allowed by the system to include an active hyperlinked URL or other vB code features in your posts. If you choose to make meaningless posts to circumvent this restriction, your account will be disabled.

Neither do the mods, which is why you're also not allowed to make spam posts :D You alluded to the reasoning behind the rule though, spam.
There's many people that would love to come to the forum and send off a bunch of links to the worst parts of the internet. Requiring 5 posts (with a post timer and I believe an hourly update for privileges) greatly increases the odd that they will be caught by a mod and taken care of quickly.
This really is a large forum with a great community, finding 5 topics of interest that you can offer feedback, insight, or just good communication on shouldn't be difficult at all.

And what are you going to be posting about? You seem pretty intent on breaking the rules in order to post links. Looks rather dodgy to me.
