View Full Version : Asp.net Reseller?

I'm looking for a reseller plan with the below options:
- Asp.net 3.5
- Sql Server 2005 or 2008
- Host at least 5 separate websites (10 is better)
- Ability to have at least 1 database per website
- Ability to access my databases through Sql Server Management Studio Express
- Dotnetpanel if possible, but not a deal-breaker
- 5 GB of diskspace (10 is better)
Softsys is the only host that basically a perfect fit, but slightly too expensive at this time for me.
Other than that, I have already looked through the offers sections, and I've basically only found what wasn't for me:
- webspacedepot.com: Only provides up to asp.net 2.0, and only provides SQL 2000
- nobullservers.com: I can't even click on the windows reseller plan "order now" button (try it: http://nobullservers.com/hosting.html) (http://nobullservers.com/hosting.html%29). This is NOT a sign of a solid hosting company. Plus the website itself is light on details.
- dmehosting.com: Only 1 SQL Server database allowed for the whole "bronze" reseller plan?!? Even the $70/month reseller plan only allows 4.
- jodohost.com: I'm currently with them now and I'm not very happy with their service (late or no support ticket replies). Not to mention the exceptionally long initial setup process with the hsphere control panel.
- ultimahosts.net: Had monumentally bad experiences with them already.
So, does anyone know of a host that offers those above options? I'm open to all suggestions--If you also host with your suggestion, that would be even better.
Thank you very much to anyone with a response! I really appreciate it.

Hello jackpx, thanks but I should I mentioned that I'm looking for USA based hosts.
On a side note, has anyone tried any of the following hosts?:
resellerzoom.com
datapacket.net
appliedi.net
m6.net
Thanks!

*bump* At this point I think I'm leaning toward Softsys, unless anyone has another suggestion? Maybe I am too specific in my requirements?
Again thank you to anyone who replies, I really appreciate it. I'm trying to move from a host who lost all of my data.

Hello
Do some research on datapacket before you signup, they have had ALLOT of bad press on here.

I assume you probably have found your host but if you have not you should seriously check out http://www.resellerchoice.com.
I have found support to be very responsive and their clustered services to be very reliable. They are not the cheapest host on the block but IMHO their prices are inline with the great services they provide.

The reason OP is looking for a US based host can be that the target audience will be in US and it is better to have the servers as close to the target audience as possible.

the reason i mentioned RedFox is because we have some clients on them and they have mentioned that the service they get from them and lack of latency is far better than what they get from many of the companies based in the US, and these are clients that are based in US

Good point. That makes customers feel much safer :)

Yes Redfox is pretty good, practically 0% downtime in the 3+ years I am using them.
I am in Peru, and accessing my sites there is most of the times faster than doing it
from Linux boxes in USA.

But beware, if you ever need support from them, be prepared to wait 4, 6, 8 hours for a reply on your support tickets.

Why were you looking at M6.Net then?

Because I am always worried that I may have a downtime and Redfox support would take 4,6 or 8 hours in responding to my messages.

Just to let you know that we are now under new management and have resolved all the past issues. Once again we are starting to purr (just as we had planned at the beginning before our partnership deals went sour). Looking forward to year 4 !

Ok I understand...though M6.Net support is based in Australia..
