I believe my favorite is Gladiator, but also near the top of my list would be Scarface (some fascination I have with mobster/drug lord related films), and A Beautiful Mind.

It would have to be tied between Lord of the Rings, and Blow.

The Crow - a pure and emotional story line. Cracking soundtrack to go with it :)

A few other favourites are:

Empire Strikes Back - always wanted the Imperials to win!
Lock Stock & Snatch - classic British films filled with true British sarcasm.
Boondock Saints - low budget films can also be classics!
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - what can you say... just go and watch it!!!

We've had this thread a few times (example (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=47199))... and it seems like it's usually asked "what's your favorite," but to me another interesting question would be "what are the best movies?" To me, at least, they're not the same question. Favorites might be that because they remind you of when you saw them first, or who you saw them with (The Princess and the Warrior), because no matter how often you see them they make you laugh out loud (Office Space), because even though they don't surprise you now after repeated viewings you remember the delight you had when the "twists" were first revealed (The Usual Suspects, Fight Club), because something in the story or the characters themselves touches you (Donnie Darko, Ghost World), because the technical achievements and performances (Apocalypse Now) or just the energy they exude (Run Lola Run) are so striking, because they demonstrate real skill in filmmaking (The Hidden Fortress), because you discover something new each time you watch them (The Royal Tenebaums, Fargo), because they're just plain fun (The Big Night, North by Northwest)... for many, many practicallly random reasons.

There are another whole group of films (with some overlap, I suppose) that I'd consider to be among the "greatest films" ever, or the greatest film achievements. But I wouldn't necessarily enjoy watching them over and over... as I do the "favorites!"

I think one of the greatest movies ever created was the World War II epic:
A Bridge Too Far

2: Star Wars
3: Braveheart
4: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (I know it's the kid in me)
