Ever since I upgraded to RealOne from RealPlayer Basic 8, I have not been able to take screenshots of video files no matter what I do.
I used to be able to pause the clip, shrink it down, then pop it up so that when I took a print screen the image would stay, and I could just crop the screen to only the clip image.
Does anyone have any advice on how to now take screenshots with RealOne player, or perhaps recommend an universal player that plays real media files. I need to be able to take clip screenshots for site updates. :(

In order to take screenshots of videos you have to lower the hardware acceleration on your video card. Go to your video card properties, find the Hardware Acceleration section, and lower it until the screenshots work. When you're done, put it back to normal.

I can't find RealPlayer 8.0 Basic to download, and turning down the hardware acceleration didn't work either...

Ok you are going to think this is strange but honest this is the only way I could get it to work..
------------
In original or double size find what you want to take a screen shot of and pause it.
Full screen hit print screen.
Goto image program. Paste that. You will only get black but past it. Trust me.
Go back to the film in RealOne. Hit play and find another spot in the movie.
Pause it again. Full screen it. Hit printscrn again.
Go back to the image program and paste that. Still you will get nothing but black but you have to do it this way..
Now go back to RealOne again. When you get back to it this time you should see the first place you had paused it at.
Full screen and hit prntscrn again.
Go back to the image program again and paste it. This time it WILL paste your image.

That worked for me everytime. I don't know why you have to go through all of that trouble buy hey. It works...

Michael

Your kidding. Strange. Worked for me. Try it with MSPaint as that is what I was pasting it into.
Did you do it exactly like I posted above as you can't skip any of those steps. You literally have to paste those stupid ones that you know will be nothing but blackness.
If you don't it will not work.
I think I still have the installer for RealPlayer 8 Basic around somewhere but I would have to find it.
