Go and have a look at GoDaddys domain name after market. You can find some good and reasonable priced domains there.
To find a good, simple and short domain which isn't registered yet could be a hard task...
Maybe also post a request in the sales forum, but you risk to only get overpriced offers.

Best bet with domains is try to find it yourself. if you post at forums people may actually try to buy it before you do then try to sell it to you.

If you choose a domain name for your website, you must consider a keyword relevant to your niche. That way, major SE's will find you easily based on that keyword.Say for example, if you want to build a website for an online electronics store, choose relevant domain names as:
1. ElectronicsStoreOnline.com
2. OnlineElectronicsShop.com
3. YourOneStopElectronicShop.com
4. ElectronicShop.com
5. MyOnlineElectronicStore.com
I hope this helps. :)

Here's just my opinion, take it how you will..
I find that the domain itself isn't important, but rather word of mouth, reputation, quality of service and traffic is..
Almost every big site in the world does not have any keywords related to their business in the domain name.
Truth is, rarely will a domain name nowadays make you successful by itself, unless you get a big one.
And as far as search engines go.. You try to get on top of the search results for 'electronics store/shop'.. You need more than a domain for that, you need traffic, links and such too, which makes you go on top anyways..
The only things I would keep in mind related to the domain, is to make it as memorable as possible. Make it easy to say, remember, type.
But ultimately you want to focus on sticking out from the crowd, promotion, word of mouth, quality of service and building a rep.
My 2 cents.
