Hey All-
My name is J. Rai. This is pretty much my 'webmaster forum standard' hello, mostly because I like to not lurk. To introduce myself, I started designing and programming back in '99, and moved into buying and selling websites back in '02; when the concept of doing so, or saying that you did so was immediately followed by "...what?"
After big sales, I tend to go off and travel for awhile. And it was during one of those hiati (is that a real word?) that I noticed places like SitePoint, dedicated somewhat to doing what I was doing and legitimizing the whole industry.
That's what I mean by saying I shoul've signed quite a while ago. But aside from being a businessperson, I'm a creative type with usually a lot on his plate, so sometimes things take a while.
Lately, my key focus has been in developing site concepts that either fill unique gaps in the market, can empower those without a true market or market tool, or to offer competition where necessary. This is what I'm best at, so I've decided to center myself and focus in a single direction with the businesses online that I run. I think it's called...Integrity?
Anyway, I thought some of the resources here could help with my current business and signed up just tonight. The newest portfolio addition has to do with freelancing and finding freelancers, so I gave up putting off signing up until I stumbled back in SitePoint's direction out of pure need. Horrible, I know, but like I said...
I'd like to stay active and offer my expertise and help where necessary and possible, and hopefully can pick some brains here, as well. Hello to all.
