I really did search because I am sure this must have been covered before but I could not find it. I have never used cPanel backup so I don't have a clue how this works. I just want to know.
The questions are fairly simple.
If one does a full site backup and manges to get it to their local machine can they use that backup to restore their site(s) on a new hosting account?
Is the software smart enough to take old-username, old-database and passwords and fully restore them completely working on a new account?
Does it rewrite the config files with the new values?
Does it fully restore the databases, mailboxes and all other values?
The same question for addon domains and subdomains?

Yes - If it is a full backup, it will restore everything as long as both servers run cPanel.
