I am a noobert. I've got some questions about web hosts...

I am considering Veoweb despite some bad posts on this board regarding e-mail accounts and response time. It seems all of these posts took place while the company was moving domains from one server to another and I cannot find a single post about them since, like, July.

I sent an email over to them this morning and received a reply in about 2 minutes. Nice!

Anyone have something good / bad to say about them now?

P.S. Anyone recommend other affordable web hosts? I am looking to host 3 small domains (no more than 5 MB each) with minimal bandwidth... 1 FTP, many POP3, SSH, CGI, 1 mySQL.. thanks :)

That is nice response time, but try sending several emails at different times of the day before you make a decision on the support of any host ;)

I think it is funny to see people scrutinize a host like they are buying a 40000.00 dollar car.

netacore, very true... however suzieQ, if you feel comfortable with the move to go to them, i wouldn't hold back. I always tell people to just make sure they have a 30-day money back guarantee and to PRINT that page (with date & time stamp on the print) and if you dont like it, get your money back.

well, i'd have to agree and disagree with you here... i WISH that it didnt have to come to that (as in buying a $40k car).. however, i know some folk (including my self) who have just been TRASHED by other hosts by poor service and support that it has DRIVEN a lot of people to be picky. I remember my FIRST host, how i had a small list of things to look for, then on to my FIFTH host were I was incredibly picky (i hated to pack up my bags and leave). So yeah.. although i agree people are over picky, I also disagree in the fact that: I dont blame 'em! :(

With all the junk no good hosts around these days who can blame anyone for being careful who they go with. Not everybody is happy switching hosts every 5-6 months or so.

Veoweb sounds like a solid choice.
